A Silver-Gilt and Cloisonne Enamel Kovsh
MARKED K. FABERGE WITH THE IMPERIAL WARRANT, OVERSTRIKING THE MARK OF FEODOR RUCKERT, MOSCOW, 1908-1917, SCRATCHED INVENTORY NUMBER 27260
Of traditional form, on oval foot with raised prow, the hook handle formed as a stylized animal's head, enameled throughout with geometric motifs in shades of blue, rose, orange and green on black and dark gray grounds, the base with Russian inscription 'K. Faberge Kiev', marked under base and on handle3ѕ in. (9.5 cm.) long
The engraving K. Faberge Kiev indicates that the kovsh was retailed by the Kiev branch of the firm, which existed for a short period from 1905 to 1910. Faberge objects related to the Kiev branch are very rare.
