About this object
A rectangular box. On the lid is a reserved shaped panel containing a scene painted in en plein enamel with "The Boyar" after Konstantin Makovskii. He is wearing a cap and fur trimmed red robe, and is seated facing right, with his hands resting on a staff. There is a vessel on a shelf at right, and rays of light above streaming from a window made of small circular panes. The rest of the box is covered in filigree enamel in Neo-Russian style in dark blue, brown, grey, and touches of orange, on sides lozenge shapes with white grounds.
