A FINE RUSSIAN ICON OF CHRIST FEODOR RUCKERT C. 1900.
Here is depicted a finely painted image of Christ as the Lord Almighty (Gospod Vsederzhitel) with his right hand Christ delivers a blessing and his left hand holds a book of open Gospels inscribed with the text of Matthew 11:28. The image overlaid with a spectacular and ornate silver gilt and shaded enamel oklad with applied halo and decorative corner elements. Hallmarked Moscow, 1899-1908 and Cyrillic makers mark FR for Feodor Ruckert and 84 standard. The verso covered in red silk. 3.6 inches x 2.7 inches (9.2cm x 7cm).
