rectangular, the lid painted en plein with an interior view of a boyarina and her children listening to an aged lute player, the lid border with stylised foliage in bright translucent green and blue on a black ground, the front and back with central shaded rosettes, the sides with geometric motifs, further decorated with cloison coils and dripped overlay, struck K.Fabergé in Cyrillic beneath the Imperial Warrant, partially overstriking workmaster's initials, 88 standard, scratched inventory number 31092
