DESCRIPTION
painted on metal, the icon encased in a fine silver-gilt cloisonne enamel oklad in the form of an arch, extensively decorated with shaded flowers and leaves, the background with scrolling tendrils heightened with gilt; maker's mark of Feodor Ruckert, Moscow, 1899-1908; within original fitted velvet-lined case, the reverse with easel support.
