DESCRIPTION
the hinged cover finely enameled after Konstantin Makovsky, with 'A Boyar Wedding Feast,' the border of the cover and the sides enameled with colorful flowering foliage on a pale green ground, the corners applied with Old Russian style `hinges' mounted with rubies and emeralds, each carrying handle also set with rubies and emeralds, raised on four bracket supports.
A Boyar Wedding Feast painted in 1883 by Konstantin Makovsky (1839-1915) is preserved in the collection of Hillwood Museum, Washington, D.C.
