Of rectangular outline, with a carrying handle at either side and raised on pierced, shaped feet; the hinged lid with canted sides, the raised central part enameled en grisaille with a view of St. Petersburg from the Neva River; the remainder of the casket decorated with stylized flower-heads, foliage and beads in shaded tones of red, white, blue, green and orange on blue and pale orange enamel grounds; the whole set with cabochon Chrysoprases.
