A silver-gilt hinged casket on bracket feet with swivel handles, the lid is decorated with an en plein enamel plaque depicting a medieval scene: an old man presenting his daughters to a richly attired nobleman surrounded with borzois. The miniature is painted after Vasili Polenov's "Right of the Master", (see Polenov Russian Artist of the XIX century, by E.V.Paston, St. Petersburg 1991, Page 21). The glossy plaque is counter-enameled on the interior with engraved tulips underneath translucent turquoise enamel. The sides of the casket are enameled with pink roses and foliage within black enamel border.
