Marked Faberge with the Imperial warrant, this vase was probably executed in the workshop of Feodor Ruckert, who during this period produced the finest cloisonne enamel articles in Moscow. So renowned was Ruckert's workmanship that Faberge, Ovchinnikov, and other firms purchased and retailed his works. Ruckert's mark is commonly not present, but in this case appears to be overstruck by the Faberge mark.
