Lot Notes
|
Marked Faberge with the Imperial Warrant, this very large cloisone enamel item was nonetheless executed in the workshop of Feodor Ruckert who was producing the best cloisonnй enamel articles in Moscow. His workmanship was so renowned that other firms such as Fabergй or even Kurliukov and Ovchinnikov were buying and retailing Ruckert's works. In fact, either the Ruckert mark is overstruck by the Faberge mark or, in this case, his mark is not present, which is very common.
