Oblong, the sides with cloisonnй  enamel stylised trees in a landscape with geometric and floral cornerpieces, the shaped handles with similar motifs, the domed hinged cover with border of stylised cockerels with triangular geometric motifs at intervals inset with an en plain enamel plaque depicting The Zaporozhskie Cossacks writing a Letter to the Sultan after I.E. Repin, with hinged clasp with rosette and scroll motifs, marked under base and inside cover
