Oblong, the sides and feet with varicolor stylized floral and foliate scrolls and geometric motifs on turquoise and dark blue ground, the ends with shaped swing handles similarly decorated, the raised hinged cover with en-plein plaque of 'The Unveiling of the Bride' after Konstantin Makovskii, within sloping border of scrolling flowers and foliage on dark green and blue ground, flanked by a band of seven raised checker gilt studs, the inside of the cover with a translucent plaque depicting stylised flower heads, marked under base
