Circular, on three swisted rope work ball feet, with six lobed panels enamelled inside and out with varicolor alternating exotic birds and stylized blossoms on pale blue and cream grounds, below a moss-green border with filigree tracery, the centre enamelled with Stork and Fox from the fable by I. Krylov, marked on rim
4in. (10.2cm.) diam.

Lot Notes
Ivan Andreevich Krylov (1769-1844) translated into Russian the Fables of La Fontaine, but giving them a distinctive Russian flavor.
