The intricate Russian enamel work features at least 10 different colors of enamel, and you can even DOUBLE that number if you count the different shades of colors! The attention to detail in this fascinating work of art is just breathtaking. The focal point of the egg is a cameo portrait of the last czar of imperial Russia, Nicholas II, and his beautiful wife, the czarina Alexandra. At the bottom there are double eagles, which is the symbol for the Russian imperial dynasty. The elaborate design is so finely hand applied, with such meticulous detail given to each flower, such as the divine way the petals are formed. The fabulous egg is set in sterling silver and is also decorated with three real jewels, one of which resembles green agate. The inside is a smooth Sterling silver, with a magnificent gold wash! This Faberge Easter egg is hallmarked with the hallmark of master silver and gold smith for Carl Faberge, Fedor Ruckert. Fedor Ruckert worked in Moskow from 1908-1917. The delightful egg also has the Russian silver mark of a woman's face. One of the most spectacular details of this piece is its LARGE size!
