Deep, rounded vessel with handle to one side on a smooth, tapering basal ring. The outer surface richly decorated with polychrome cloissoné enamel surrounding seven bezel-set chrysoprase and six carnelion cabochons. The angular handle with corresponding decor set with a further chrysoprase at the terminal. Gilt interior. H 6.5; W 16; D 10 cm, weight 215 g.
Marks of Feodor Rückert, 1896 - 1908.
Originally from Alsace, Feodor Rückert (1840 - 1917) was one of the most talented enamel artists in Russia. His workshop was one of the most important suppliers for Carl Fabergé's Moscow studio.
