Lot 2537A: OUTSTANDING & RARE FIGURAL HANDLED ENAMEL DECORATED KOVSH BY FEDOR RUCKERT.
Description: The oval bowl having two fully case bear head handles, each bear set with red stone eyes. Gilt interior & gilt base with multi-colored enamel body decoration in green, blue, black, lavender, and orange. The bottom having two hallmarks, one for Fedor Ruckert, the other being a Moskow mark. Accompanying the kovsh is a small fountain pen label "David: Daddy bought this in Russia long ago". "WEIGHT: 18 tr. oz. SIZE: 7-3/4" w x 3-1/2" h x 5" w. PROVENANCE: Purchased in the mid 90's at a midwest auction, private collection. CONDITION: Enameling in very good condition, the gilt areas with wear, the interior showing polished marks where cast bear heads meet bowl. 9-21742
