RUSSIAN SILVER AND ENAMEL EGG. Marked for 84 zolotniks, maker Feodor Ruckert, and for the firm "K. Faberge" (in Cyrillic) under the Imperial warrant. A hinged egg-shaped box with elaborate cloisonne decoration and inset stones, and with a gold-washed interior. Ruckert was of German extract, born in Moscow, and worked as a silversmith, making wares he sold himself, and producing cloisonne for Faberge's Moscow branch. Sold at Garth's July 8-9, 2005, lot 652. 2 3/4"d. 3 7/8"l.
