This is beautiful Russian silver gilt enamel snuff box.It hasmarks: the kokoshnik hallmark 88' andthe initials "F.R." in Cyrillic. In the book "The Art of Carl Faberge" by Alexander von Solodkoff I found that the initials are for Fedor Ruckert. He started making objects with cloisonne enamel in Moscow in 1877. Faberge's Moscow signature often obliterates Ruckert's initials. Size is 2"1/2x 1"1/8 x 1"1/2. I took this item on consignment and don't know how old is this box. Therefore I sell it as is. Excellent condition. A perfect gift!
